Skip Yassenoff is the President of Rainbow Development
Corporation, a Columbus Area developer and manager of
industrial and commercial properties in Central Ohio.
Skip grew up on the east side of Columbus and graduated
from The Ohio State University in 1972 with a BS degree
in Business, with a minor in Real Estate.
Skip's first full-scale development was a 22 unit "mini
warehouse" in the Grandview Area in 1979 (A
mini-warehouse is an office warehouse, but typically
only 1200 to 1800 sq ft). It differs greatly from
Personal Storage units because the mini-warehouses have
an office, a restroom, heating, and air conditioning. In
developing his first mini-warehouse, Skip studied all of
the existing units in Columbus, evaluating the
differences and deciding what kind of product he wanted
to build. The end result emphasized the strong security
of steel doors and glass block windows, masonry dividing
walls, split heating systems, and an entrance that
opened into the warehouse and not the office, allowing
the office to be locked off from the warehouse. The
building was sited to permit excellent visibility of the
parking areas from the street and to allow sufficient
space for cars to be able to pass when semis were being
unloaded.
Over the years, Skip has built ten additional buildings
in the Northwest Quadrant of Central Ohio. Improvements
over the years have included: larger offices, cable
access, ADA restrooms, emergency lighting, and office
doors with windows. Observing the increase in the height
of cube vans beyond 10', Skip built the most recent
buildings with 12' doors instead of the traditional 10'
over head doors. New buildings are located in the growth
areas of Central Ohio such as Dublin, Hilliard, and
Southern Delaware County.
The eleven buildings allow tenants the possibility of
adjusting their size and location as business condition
change.
Rainbow Development manages its properties with the
assistance of RJ Boll Real Estate. Click the two links
